It will be up to Inter president Steven Zhang to repair his relationship with coach Antonio Conte after the 51-year-old Italian again alluded to an early farewell from the club in post-match interviews after the Nerazzurri’s 3-2 loss against Sevilla in the Europa League final yesterday.
According to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the former Juventus and Chelsea boss was incredibly disappointed with the loss in the Europa League final and his words post-match further fueled doubts surrounding his future in charge of the Nerazzurri squad.
President Steven Zhang will now have to see if he can defuse the situation and repair his relationship with the coach, the report continues. Given that there are still two years left on Conte’s contract, dismissing him and his staff could cost over €20 million net, and so Inter aren’t likely to outright dismiss the former Italy boss.
