Genoa have made contact with Inter over signing defender Andrea Ranocchia according to a report from Italian broadcaster SportItalia, which was aired a short time ago.

Genoa had been moving to sign Juan Jesus from Roma but have put that particular move on standby in order to pursue a move for Ranocchia, who has already previously played for them.

In the recently concluded 2019/20 season Ranocchia found playing time extremely limited but despite his limited playing time, Ranocchia proved to be ever reliable and a lucky charm as Inter never lost when he played.

The 32-year-old has just under a year left to run on his current Inter contract and one report has suggested that Inter could let Ranocchia leave for free as a reward for his services to the club.

Ranocchia joined Inter way back in January 2011 and has made 207 appearances across all competitions for the club, in which he has scored 13 goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
