Inter centre back Diego Godin will complete a move to Cagliari in the coming days according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Inter will give the Uruguayan natioanal team player an incentive to leave the club in the shape of severance pay and his departure will allow Inter to offload his wages of their wage bill.
The Nerazzurri club will replace the veteran defender, who only joined in the Summer of 2019, with Matteo Darmian. The versatile Italian’s wages are much less than those of Godin and Inter already have an agreement in place with Parma over his transfer which dates back to last Summer.
Various reports have stated that Inter have also already agreed personal terms with the former Manchester United player.
Last season the 30-year-old, who is primarily a right wing-back but capable of playing across the entire defence, made 34 appearances, in which he scored one goal and tallied one assist.
