Genoa are close to signing Inter wing-back Antonio Candreva according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

After failing in their pursuit of Roma’s Rick Karsdorp, the Rossoblu club have somewhat unexpectedly set their sights on bringing in Candreva.

Genoa are seeking an agreement with both Inter and the player himself and are determined to finalize a deal for him.

Di Marzio’s report does not provide any detail as to how much Inter could receive for the former Lazio player nor does his report provide any detail of the potential contract Candreva could receieve from Genoa.

Candreva joined Inter back in the Summer of 2016 and has just under a year left to run on his contract with the club.

Last season Candreva enjoyed a real upturn in form following a disappointing previous season with him scoring seven goals and providing nine assists for his teammates in 40 appearances across all competitions.
