Genoa sporting director Daniele Faggiano has denied recent media reports which have suggested that they have an interest in signing Inter’s Antonio Candreva.

Late last night Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that the Rossoblu club were interested in signing the Italian wing-back and reports today have suggested that Candreva departing could finally allow Inter to finalise a deal for Arturo Vidal.

“News denied, it is not true that we are interested in Candreva,” Faggiano explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Italia, which was broadcast a short time ago.

Candreva joined Inter back in the Summer of 2016 from fellow Serie A side Lazio and has since made 151 appearances across all competitions for the club.

The 33-year-old, who has just under a year left to run on his contract with Inter, made 40 appearances across all competitions last season. In his time on the park, which totalled just over 2500 minutes, he scored seven goals and provided nine assists for his teammates.
