Barcelona will make another attempt to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter prior to the transfer window closing on October 5 according to a report from in today’s print edition edition of Spanish news outlet AS, as per Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.
Barcelona have courted Lautaro for a considerable amount of time and continue to dream about signing him. Negotiations were previously well underway but the COVID-19 pandemic put a stop to things.
The report goes on to insist that Barcelona will try to the very end to sign Lautaro and will make one last attempt for the 23-year-old Argentine before the transfer window closes whilst leaving the door open for a move for Memphis Depay, who they have identified as an alternative.
Lautaro, who joined Inter back in 2018 and is contracted until 2023, has a €111 million release clause in his contract although the time has passed for Barcelona to be able to trigger that and given it has expired, Inter have a lot more control and can demand what they want.
