Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan and defender Alessandro Bastoni both trained individually at the Suning Sports Centre in Appiano gentile today, hoping to be available for Wednesday’s Champions League opener, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

The report details how the duo have both recently tested negative for Covid-19, after contracting the virus earlier this month.

Both players, two amongst six Inter players who caught the contagion, missed the derby against AC Milan yesterday, but are hoping to return in time for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with German side Borussia Monchengladbach.

The two trained individually this morning at the training centre, waiting to complete the procedures before joining the squad.

English left wing back Ashley Young, who also tested positive for Covid-19 last week, will undergo another test tomorrow, to see whether he still has the virus or not.

Other infected players include Ionut Radu and Roberto Gagliardini, as well as Milan Skriniar.
