Achraf Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano has revealed that it was his client’s choice to move from Real Madrid to Inter in the most recent Summer transfer window.
The highly rated Moroccan national team wing-back has gotten life in a Nerazzurri shirt off to a flyer since his €45 million, including add-ons, move from Los Blancos, a move which Camano suggests was a long time in coming.
“Hakimi personally chose to play for Inter,” he explained in an interview with Italian news outlet FCInter1908.it.
“It was his decision, the sporting director of Inter had been talking to me for some time about the possibility of signing him. He is very happy and wants to win everything with his new team, Inter.”
Camano was then asked about his client’s thoughts ahead of the upcoming Champions League group stage clashes with Real Madrid, the first of which will take place this coming Tuesday in the Spanish capital.
“The challenges with Real? Hakimi grew up and trained with Real Madrid and he is proud of that.”
Camano proceeded to share that his client feels he can lend a real hand in helping Inter pick up silverware again and put an end to a near 10 year trophy drought at San Siro.
“He is now extremely convinced that he can help bring Inter back to winning. The Nerazzurri club convinced him, Inter’s project is very stimulating.”
Since joining Hakimi has made six appearances, in which he has scored one goal and provided two assists for his teammates.
