Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella will not start against Bologna this evening, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the 23-year-old Italian midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, suffered an injury in the Champions League win over German side Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this week, and so will start tonight’s game on the bench.
Serbian veteran Aleksandar Kolarov, who has recently recovered from a battle with Covid-19, will not appear tonight against the Rossoblu as he hasn’t fully completed the necessary procedures before returning yet.
He will be available for next week’s European match against Shakhtar Donetsk.
In the midfield tonight the starters will be Chilean Arturo Vidal, Croatian Marcelo Brozovic and Italian Roberto Gagliardini.
Barella has been a key player for coach Antonio Conte this season, making 14 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 1105 minutes.
In that time, he has provided four assists.
