Inter chief executive Beppe Marotta was due to hold talks with the Nerazzurri’s players today regarding wage payments, according to an Italian media report.
Inter owe their players several months’ worth of salaries and as per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition this morning, the players will get their wages for July and August 2020 very soon.
Marotta was expected to speak with captain Samir Handanovic and the rest of the squad in the hope he can reach a series of individual agreements over the players’ wages for November and December, which Inter hope to defer until May 31.
With January now coming to a close as well, though, there is now another monthly payment that the club will need to hand over at some point.
Inter have struggled with a lack of liquidity in recent weeks, partly due to the ongoing financial crisis following the COVID-19 pandemic and partly because of Chinese government restrictions which have complicated matters for owners Suning.
