Inter saw negotiations to sign Udinese duo Juan Musso and Rodrigo De Paul fall apart amidst ongoing uncertainty over a takeover of the club, according to Italian media.
Nerazzurri owners Suning are currently in talks to sell the club or bring investment partners on board, with British equity fund BC Partners believed to be amongst the frontrunners for a takeover.
In a feature for Tuttomercatoweb.com, Sport Mediaset journalist Niccolo Ceccarini claimed that the ongoing discussions and uncertainty over the ownership of the club had caused a detrimental effect on Inter’s transfer business.
Inter had opened negotiations with Udinese to sign the Argentine pair, as they sought to bring in goalkeeper Musso and attacking midfielder De Paul, before talks with Udinese came to a halt.
A potential change in ownership saw Inter’s assault on the transfer market stopped in it’s tracks and moves for Musso and De Paul withdrawn until the situation in the Nerazzurri boardroom became clearer.
“The club’s evolution has inevitably frozen Inter’s plans. While waiting to understand what the outcome will be, the project that was leading the approach for De Paul and Musso has stopped,” Ceccarini claimed. “The talks with Udinese were advancing but there has been a sudden slowdown.”
