Inter are unlikely to bring Federico Dimarco back to the club this summer, according to a report in Italy tonight.

FcInter1908.it said Hellas Verona wanted to renegotiate the terms of the agreement they reached last summer, which saw Dimarco join on a season-long loan with an option to buy for €6.5 million.

The Gialloblu hope to secure Dimarco’s services for a slightly lower fee, because they know Inter need liquidity and because they are aware – more importantly – that the full-back is not part of the Nerazzurri’s future plans.

FCIN1908 said these were normal dynamics in negotiations between two clubs and that it remained to be seen whether Inter would grant such a discount.

The Nerazzurri ‘protected’ themselves when sending Dimarco to Hellas Verona by securing a 20% cut of any future transfer fee.

Inter are convinced that between the €6.5 million option to buy and the subsequent 20% fee, they have given the 23-year-old the correct value and will not lose him for less than he is worth.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio will be in charge of sorting Dimarco’s future, who has scored four goals and provided five assists for Hellas Verona this season.
