Lazio forward Joaquin Correa has moved behind Marcus Thuram in Inter’s search for an attacking reinforcement before the transfer window shuts.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are still far away from meeting the demands of the Argentine’s current club.
Biancocelesti president Claudio Lotito has not budged on his valuation of €35-40 million for Correa, and the Nerazzurri are not likely to bring the 26-year-old in for this asking price.
For this reason the club could swiftly move on to other targets, with Borussia Monchengladbach’s Thuram in particular coming into view as a target.
In addition to the fee involved in a deal for Correa, Inter would not be able to take advantage of the Growth Decree on the Argentine’s wages because he is being signed directly from Italy rather than a foreign league, which could affect the size of the wage offer they make to him.
