Inter target Lorenzo Insigne looks likely to depart from his current club either this summer or the next, with the 30-year-old not currently in contract talks with the Partenopei.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri could look to bring the Napoli captain in next summer with the possibility of negotiating a contract as early as January, or that a move could still be made before the end of the summer transfer window.
Insigne’s current deal with Napoli is set to run out at the end of June 2022, and talks have broken down on an extension, with the focus of discussion having moved to a possible sale.
The winger wants a wage increase to a net of €6 million per season, while his club are digging their heels in on an offer of €3.5 million, rising to the €4.6 million net annually that he currently earns with add-ons.
The winger would likely cost €15-20 million to bring in this summer as the Partenopei know that they will risk losing him for free next summer if they do not sell him now, and the Nerazzurri are monitoring this as a possibility.
More likely, however, would be a move for him next summer, with the Nerazzurri ready to begin approaching him to agree on a contract in January.
