Contract negotiations between Inter target Lorenzo Insigne and his current club Napoli remain stalled, and the 30-year-old could leave next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are closely monitoring the situation as the negotiations look to be at a complete standstill.

With Insigne’s current deal set to run out at the end of June 2022, the Partenopei will have to agree on a renewal with the forward to avoid losing him on a free transfer in a year’s time.

The Italian currently earns €4.6 million net per season and his club are only offering a new deal worth a net of €3.5 million annually, a wage decrease, while the player and his agent are seeking a new contract worth €5.5 million.

Inter are strongly considering a move for Insigne next summer should he not find an agreement on a new deal, and for the moment there is no movement in the direction of such an agreement.
