Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries could make his first start for Inter in Saturday’s Serie A fixture against Bologna as Simone Inzaghi seeks to rotate his squad, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Matteo Darmian is in need of a rest after featuring prominently for Inter over the past few games.
The two players in line to let him catch his breath are Denzel Dumfries and Danilo D’Ambrosio. The ex-PSV Eindhoven man has been steadily eased into the setup after making his move to the Nerazzurri in August.
Now could be his chance to cement himself as the main man down the right wing for Inter, which is what the club hoped he would do when they signed him.
Unless he performs extremely well, he will likely form part of a rotation with Matteo Darmian as is happening on the left side of the pitch.
