Work has begun today on re-laying the pitch at the San Siro to improve the quality of the turf for when Inter and AC Milan return from the international break.
This according to today’ print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that conditions are expected to be good for the work on improving the quality of the pitch.
The low quality of the pitch at San Siro has been noted as a major problem especially in the last few matches played by the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri prior to the break.
The two sides will return to face each other in the derby in the first weekend back from the international break, and they will hope that the pitch is in significantly better condition for the occasion.
Signs look positive, as the international break will be spent comprehensively re-laying the pitch, and the weather conditions should be conducive to the project.
