Inter have made contact with Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovic over extending his contract for at least another season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have opened the discussions with the player so that he can work alongside Andre Onana next season when the Cameroonian goalkeeper joins the squad on a free transfer from Ajax.

Inter are happy for him to remain as captain and the playing time that each goalkeeper gets will be dictated by their performances.

Samir Handanovic is out of contract in June 2022 so the club must negotiate a renewal with him. His current salary is €3.2 million and it is likely that will need to be reduced as he will no longer be as key to the team.

Inter are willing to offer a two-year deal or maybe a one-year deal with the option for a second season.
