Inter featured plenty of positive displays despite losing 1-0 to Lens in their third friendly of the perseason yesterday.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who name the quartet of Matteo Darmian, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Samir Handanovic, and Romelu Lukaku as the four outstanding performers in the Nerazzurri’s team during the match.
Darmian continued to fill in on the right side of defense, and the experienced 32-year-old showed that he can be a safe presence at the back even if he was not able to run up and down the wing as he usually does in the wingback position.
In midfielder, Mkhitaryan put in his most solid performance of his three preseason appearances, whilst Handanovic made it clear with his display that he will give new arrival Andre Onana real competition for the starting spot in goal.
In attack, Edin Dzeko looked off the pace and Joaquin Correa little better in the view of Tuttosport, but when Romelu Lukaku came on the Belgian showed plenty of flashes of why he has been brought back on loan from Chelsea.
