Defender Alessandro Bastoni and wingback Denzel Dumfries are set to start for Inter in this evening’s Serie A clash with Spezia.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the duo will make their first starts of the season whilst all three of Robin Gosens, Federico Dimarco, and Matteo Darmian are in contention to start on the left wing.
Both Dumfries and Bastoni were left out of the starting eleven in the Nerazzurri’s first Serie A match of the season, a 2-1 win away to Lecce last season, though both of the pair came off the bench with the Dutchman proving his worth by scoring the Nerazzurri’s last-gasp winner.
Both of the pair are set to be in the starting eleven for the team’s home opener, however, whilst the major doubt for coach Simone Inzaghi appears to be the left-wingback position, with Dimarco narrowly tipped to start ahead of Gosens and Darmian.
The Gazzetta’s complete predicted starting eleven for the match is as follows:
Inter (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Lukaku, Lautaro.
