Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is once again set to put his trust in midfielders Nicolo Barella and Marcelo Brozovic in this evening’s Champions League group stage clash with Viktoria Plzen.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the coach wants to see the pair prove that they can keep the midfield together and establish a consistent standard of performance.

Neither Barella nor Brozovic have been at their best on a consistent basis this season, although their linkup for the Nerazzurri’s winning goal against Torino on Saturday suggested that a turning point may have been reached.

Inzaghi feels that, while he has a number of midfield options to call upon, both Barella and Brozovic must be able to show their quality on a consistent basis and not just in moments, and has prioritized getting them on the pitch together to try and build a string of convincing performances around.

Meanwhile, the coach is set to go with Joaquin Correa and Lautaro Martinez in attack for this evening’s match against Viktoria.
