Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan feels that the Nerazzurri allowed Juventus to score far too easily in yesterday evening’s Serie A loss.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Rai Radio, the 33-year-old admitted that defending was poor on the Bianconeri’s opener, and also stated that he feels that the team can get past the setback of losing yesterday.

Inter had gone into yesterday evening’s match high on confidence, having won their past four in Serie A and also reached the round of sixteen in the Champions League.

However, the match acted as something of a reality check, as the Bianconeri held them at bay defensively and were clinical in punishing defensive errors.

The match leaves Inter with a clear idea of how much they still have to work on.

However, Mkhitaryan feels that it is not so much that the team cannot get past this difficult moment.

“The chances we passed up had a big impact,” the Armenian said, “in the end we paid for them.”

“It is not acceptable for us to concede the opener like that from a situation where we had a corner, but that’s football.”

“We have to look forward,” he argued, “believe in it and think about winning our next two matches.”

“We can get past this loss, I’m confident of that.”

“We’ve created problems for ourselves, but now we have to do everything to win the last two before the break.”

Of the Nerazzurri’s disappointing first part of the season, Mkhitaryan said that “We haven’t started well but there’s still time for us to improve.”

“We’ll win the matches we have to win later on in the campaign,” he added.

And of the importance of having midfielder Marcelo Brozovic back from injury, he said that “It’s good for Inter, we as midfielders all have to support each other, we work as a team towards one goal.”
