Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is in the starting eleven for Croatia, and Lautaro Martinez on the bench for Argentina, in this evening’s World Cup semifinal match.
This is confirmed by the lineup announcements by the respective teams’ official FAs, as reported by L’Interista.
Brozovic had been expected to start this evening’s match, with the 30-year-old Nerazzurri midfielder having started in each of Croatia’s five matches at the tournament so far.
This is confirmed, as the Inter player will sit at the base of a midfield trio alongside Chelsea’s Matteo Kovacic and Real Madrid’s Luka Modric.
Meanwhile, Martinez starts on the bench for the fourth match in a row for Argentina.
The 25-year-old had started the Albiceleste’s first two matches in Qatar, but has since been left on the bench in favour of Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez.
Martinez has come off the bench in each of Argentina’s past three matches at the tournament, including in their dramatic penalty shootout win over the Netherlands in the quarterfinals where he scored the decisive penalty.
