Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is set to be called up to the squad for the team’s friendly match against Reggina on Thursday.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 29-year-old will be ready to take the pitch in the Nerazzurri’s friendly match against the Serie B high-flyers.
Lukaku had not been part of Inter’s training retreat in Malta, whilst he had also been left out of the squad for Saturday’s friendly match against La Liga team Real Betis.
The priority has been getting the Belgian back to full fitness after the World Cup.
Given that Lukaku had not looked at his physical best in Qatar, the decision was taken to prioritize individual work on fitness rather than travelling with the squad to Spain to face Real Betis over the weekend.
However, now the 29-year-old is felt to be ready to take the pitch, and is expected to appear in the friendly match against Reggina where he will look to get playing time in his legs.
