Something like a “Romelu Lukaku 2.0” was on show in flashes in Inter’s 2-0 friendly win over Reggina yesterday evening.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who suggest that there were early signs that the 29-year-old is starting to build his form from scratch again.
Lukaku was practically making a third debut for Inter in the team’s friendly against Reggina yesterday evening.
Whilst the Belgian’s previous returns against Lecce and Viktoria Plzen had seen him reintegrating into the team and looking for match-sharpness it was not to the degree that he is now doing.
Now, Lukaku has barely played for months, and is having to re-acclimatize himself to leading the line.
As could be expected, the 29-year-old looked rusty against Reggina, but at the same time, there were clear signs that he knows what he is shooting for as he aims to reach peak form for January onwards.
