Inter wingback Robin Gosens was taken off as a substitute for the second half of the Nerazzurri’s goalless draw with Sampdoria this evening due to a strain to his right thigh.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the reason for the 28-year-old’s removal from the pitch after the first half of the Serie A clash was that he had suffered a strain to the adductor muscles in his right thigh.
Gosens was preferred to Federico Dimarco on the left flank in Inter’s starting eleven.
The former Atalanta wingback saw out the first half, but for the second he did not take to the pitch as Dimarco instead came on as a substitute for him.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi mentioned in his post-match comments that there had been a physical problem that had caused him to substitute Gosens.
According to FCInterNews, the issue that the German picked up was a strain to his right thigh.
