Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is hoping that, 21 months after the high point of his Nerazzurri career, he can finally turn the page and write more history with the team.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who highlighted the amount of time that has elapsed since the Belgian helped Inter to their first Serie A title in eleven season and their nineteenth overall.
A lot has happened in the 21 months since Lukaku and Inter lifted the Scudetto in May of 2021.
The striker made a blockbuster move to Chelsea the summer after the title victory, where he never found anything like the form that he did at Inter in his first two seasons in Milan.
A high-profile return to the Nerazzurri last summer followed, but in truth, things have hardly been better for Lukaku back at his old club.
There is still time, however, for the Belgian to make an impact before the end of the season.
Whilst the Scudetto looks out of sight, the Champions League and the Coppa Italia are still to play for, and a strong finish to the league season would not be unimportant.
However, Lukaku must get moving if he is to write a positive new chapter at Inter, and there would be no better time to start than this Saturday’s Serie A clash with Udinese.
