Inter could face difficulties in their pursuit of Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard, as the Frenchman is increasingly open to extending his contract with the German champions.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that as the 26-year-old grows increasingly open to the possibility of extending his deal with Bayern past the end of June 2024, the Nerazzurri could have to look elsewhere.

Pavard has been one of the main names that Inter have been looking at as a possible like-for-like replacement for Milan Skriniar during the summer transfer window.

However, the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of the Frenchman would be entirely contingent on his not extending his contract with Bayern, which would make the Bavarians open to selling him.

Pavard has been disinclined towards extending his deal with the Bundesliga side, but as time passes he is increasingly considering staying and signing an extension.
