Arsenal and USMNT striker Folarin Balogun is at the top of Inter Milan’s list of targets in the striker position.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reports on his homepage that the 22-year-old is at the top of the Nerazzurri’s list of attacking targets now that their pursuit of Gianluca Scamacca has fallen through.

In the last week or so, Inter had seemingly turned their attention to Scamacca in their search for a striker.

However, the Nerazzuri will miss out on the signing of the 24-year-old West Ham United forward.

Atalanta are now on the verge of completing a deal for Scamacca for around €30 million.

This leaves Inter back to square one in a certain sense. However, it is not as though the Nerazzurri do not already have targets in mind to fill the position.

Pedulla Confirms Balogun Is Still Inter Milan’s Top Target In Attack

According to Pedulla, with Scamacca out of the picture, Inter are now aiming to move for Balogun.

The Nerazzurri had yet to really accelerate in their pursuit of the American. The focus on Scamacca in recent days saw them temporarily cool their interest.

However, Inter have already been exploring the possibility of moving for Balogun.

The American is not likely to come cheap.

Arsenal reportedly want to bring in a fee of at least €40 million for Balogun.

However, the Nerazzurri have made the striker a serious target. Inter were reportedly ready to invest somewhere in that reach in a move for Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

Moreover, that amount is not miles away from what Inter had been ready to offer to West Ham for Scamacca.

Meanwhile, Udinese have reportedly give Inter a €30 million asking price for Beto.

Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata would almost certainly be cheaper. However, at almost 31 years of age, the Spaniard would have next to no resale potential or room to grow and improve.
