“We always have to go for the three points, whether we’re winning or losing,” began Walter Mazzarri as he spoke to the media after Inter-Bologna.
“We came into the game on the back of a few strange matches and you could sense the pressure. We held back a bit, almost as if we were afraid to win, and yet we still created the chances. We went all out for the win at the end, making substitutions that forced players slightly out of position but it meant we could maintain the same formation. Kovacic played very well, as did Hernanes.
“I’m not interested in talking about us missing out on targets. People who have seen our games this year know that we deserve to be in Europe.
“Football is not an exact science, I don’t know what happened today. Anyone can miss a penalty: Diego is a top player, an expert penalty taker and today he missed one. But even their second equaliser had an element of luck about it. I guess we’re not used to taking penalties any more.”
“I never mentioned bad luck, I said it was about incidents. Look at that Bologna shot which flew through a crowd of legs. Or their second goal. How can you correct something like that? I’m just analysing the way the game went. The mistake from the spot was par for the course with the way things are going for us at the moment and the percentage of errors we have.
“Looking at when they scored their first goal, I can say that we were playing well. And then with their first chance they went and scored… I’ll look over the game again tomorrow with Frustalupi. We always spend a lot of time going over our mistakes but we’re conceding strange goals. If Nagatomo had kept his cool he wouldn’t have got turned like that.
“In Verona I shouted myself hoarse during the interval to gee up the players, because we do have this nasty habit of switching off every now and then. In Livorno I spoke to them in a normal tone of voice and I later regretted it – I should have torn the dressing room apart. You get times things like tonight that escape all logic.”

yep. you should had slammed the player for their terrible first half. but then again you did not. so that is your fault indeed. you got to give them some more motivation there. it was normal that some bad results as previous matches had taken their toll on the teams morale. that is where you should had taken your role. hope some much better spirit in the next game from the lads
MEDIOCRE, even versus BOLOGNA the team struggle badly. Dreaming to Europe with this quality? as i always mentioned before, 3-5-2 is fragile against counter. 3 CBs are doing nothing when we have possession, in back 4 there only 2 CBs doing zone marking. i never understand how old minded WM is? especially when assessing player like Kovacic. we as ordinary people and Inter fans know how well he is. if WM play him since the beginning the result might different or at least the same but the young lads making their progress. Samuel is wonderful, but not today. Andreoli is in better shape, let him play and making progress too.
I hope that some people here that were criticised Icardi that he is not able to be Inters first striker, changed their mind. You see that when he allow the right passes he can score by many ways. The problem was that he didn’t allow passes from teamates in previous game.He score with Fiorentina by one touch when he get pass direcly in his legs, the same today in 1st goal and by beautiful shot in 2nd goal.He will become better and better. I think that he can be our 20 goals scorer in next season if the team will be able to create good oportunities for goals. I am not saying that we don’t need to buy another one striker, of course we need if we gonna play Europa and Cup matches, but i am trying to say that the team must focus more in other things during mercato.
First change coach that will be able to play other formatons and not only one, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-3
Second buy strong def.midfielder, the more money we must spend in this possition.
Third, need top player to be able to play more as left attacker, but as right too. I have in my mind player like Nani, who we can loan from Man.U for one year and if we will qualify to Ch.L then buy him. Some will tell about his sallery about 5 mil.It is not a problem, we will stop paying big salleries to Samuel,Milito,Chivu ( all together they earn about 8-10 mill).
And the last, our start line-up next year must start from Kovacic, with no doubt.
wee need consistency and its a draw…. lots of draw…. damn it man.
I do totally agree with the other interisi, Alvarez should have been taken off instead of ambrosio/cambiasso. Ricky was once again playing horrible with crosses leaving the stadium..
And giving kovacic more playing time would be good for both Inter and himself!
If the attacker plays well, the defender goes nuts. We got Kovacic, Doesnt have Guarin, Get a PK, Icardi scored twice, and still doesn’t win. Mazzari have a mistake too, Alvarez is his biggest mistake & Probably Milito. But that’s not why we conceded. We conceded because two of our better player this season (Rolando is our best cb & nagatomo in lm / lb) making a fatal mistake, also we missed the penalty. That’s not Mazzari fault, Mazzari mistake is if he doesnt start Kovacic against our next opponents. Cuz he clearly better than Alvarez & Proved that in this match. i think Kova will start tommorow just like what Mazzari did to Ranocchia & Icardi after their impressive performance.
And no, i don’t blame Milito for that missed penalty. Everybody can miss a penalty. Rodrigo (probably our main pk taker) give it to Milito who usually, or used to be a great penalty taker, have a fresh leg and also a champion who does have the right mentality in this kind of match (80th minutes, first pk of the season, almost certaintly a match deciding PK).
Yes luck is going against us a lot lately. But Mazzarri si making clear mistakes every game. I know he is supposed to know better than me since he is a professional but so mistakes were clear this game especially.
When he takes out D”Ambrosio he needed to either introduce Zanetti or change to a back 4. Leaving Alvarez as winger confused the team, and we allowed 3 chances on that side. I wouldn’t had taken D”Ambrosio at all, I would’ve introduced Botta for Alvarez and Kovacic for Cambiasso.
Botta has shown much more than Alvarez but Mazza is stubborn. Also Kova gives us crucial movements through the middle that make us more unpredictable.
We are always way too spread out to be predictable. The other teams just close down and then counter fast through an exposed middle from a spread out and predictable attack. Every game same thing. And now with the 3-4-3 but same movements in attack. I am officially now, after trying to support him, on the sack Mazza train.
Sack water mazzarri, the team is bigger than him.and try and bring van gaal or de boer or de matio former chelsea
I understand that Mazzarri has no clue, but it annoys me that he is constantly talking to Frustalupi who apparently is agreeing in everything seeing NOTHING changes. And stop god damn pointing at your watch the last half hour of every match, it’s pathetic!
