Walter Mazzarri was in a good mood during the official post match pressconference after his Inter brushed aside Sampdoria 4-0 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. SempreInter.com’s partners, FcInterNews.it, were present and asked the following two questions.
Do you think that your Inter had an advantage given the boiling climate of this match which maybe caused the Sampdoria players to be nervous?
“Everything adds to it, in football everything contributes to the match and so everything can happen. There was this fact that from a professional point of view Icardi showed great spirit, it was very difficult to play like that in this environment. But from a personal point of view he has to refrain from making gestures like that, he made me very angry because he could have brought us down to ten men. Thankfully it ended well.”
In the first half the team suffered from how Sampdoria played despite being one more man on the pitch. Was this perhaps due to the absence of an anchorman in the middle?
“Sometimes we played really well when we played like this. Sampdoria have some good players and we got a bit stuck. We have played better in matches were we have thrown away the points. Today we played poorly in the first half but then in the hal-time break we spoke and then the match was over, we were the masters of the pitch. But we entered the pitch differently therefore I think that we would have done well even without the man advantage.”

Icardi has played well under Sampdoria Supporter’s Pressure, please keep him Thohir.
Icardi is a Prick, cant wait for him to be sold.
I didn’t see this game. What gestures did Icardi make? I assume that was why he was booked?
just watch the highlights if you missed the game, he was asking the crowd to boo him more, remember his hands behind his ears gesture? it was similar, but more provocative
Ah, seen it. He’s still young though; he’ll grow more professional I guess. But let’s face it, I’d rather support a team with a tactless Icardi than a Calcipoli-like Juve. :p
