Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta believes Cristian Chivu will do well as coach, and says the club’s transfer window is “in line with our ambitions.”
The Nerazzurri President spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after today’s Champions League league phase draw.
Inter Milan learned who their first eight opponents in the Champions League will be today.
Among the most high profile teams that the Nerazzurri have drawn are Liverpool, Arsenal, and Atletico Madrid.
Last season, Inter had the best defensive record in the entire league phase. They managed to go the entire eight matches conceding only one goal.
This time out, there have been big changes at Inter, though. The Nerazzurri have lost coach Simone Inzaghi, with Cristian Chivu coming in to replace him.
This will be the Romanian’s first time coaching in the Champions League.
Marotta: “Chivu Will Do Well, Inter Transfer Window In Line With Ambitions”

Inter President Beppe Marotta gave his thoughts on Chivu in the Champions League. “It’s certainly his first experience in it as a coach,” he said.
“But he’s won the competition as a player. So he has experience, and he knows how to deal with opponents.”
“We know that this new format is difficult,” Marotta continued.
“Because on paper there are easy opponents, and those that are not so easy. But the important thing is to face all of them at the right time, and in the right mental and physical form.”
Then, Marotta gave his thoughts on Inter’s transfer window. “We’ve implemented a different model than in the recent past,” he commented.
“We’ve invest in five young players,” the Nerazzurri President continued. “Four of whom we signed, and one who came through the youth academy and we brought back.”
“Their average age is 21.4,” Marotta noted.
“It’s a new model, and it’s in line with the guidelines of the owners and the clubs,” the Inter President said.
“We have a young coach, but who still has experience. And as a result, I believe that the squad at our disposal is absolutely in line with our ambitions and goals.”
Inter naive fans are on the delulu high because of 5-0 against Torino which i personally feel is very bad for the team, they will get complacent. when the champions league comes and the squad depth will really be tested because inter will likely be playing three competitions with injuries creeping in also. Honestly i dont think inter will win anything again. Maybe serie a luckly.
if the transfer window is in line with the club’s ambitions, than we have almost no ambitions
gtfo plastic or I’ll start banging your mon
So we have no ambition and the new model is to buy overpriced crap nowhere near the level needed….
Great ♂️
What’s happened to you man? For 4 years all you wanted was Inzaghi gone, but now you’re even worse?!?
Yes, we need another centre back, without question, but what exactly are you so angry about? Are Pio and Bonny not an upgrade on Arnautovic, Taremi and Correa?? Pio is a beast, and Bonny has already scored, and has power, pace, and dribbling skills- things that people inexplicably seemed to think he didn’t have when we signed him!?
Is Sucic not pure class? Did he not display the kind of creativity we’ve been crying out for in midfield??
People judging Diouf after a 10 minute cameo, 3 days after arriving in Milan…. well thats just ridiculous! A midfielder with the ability to cover ground and carry the ball could finally signal the end of Miki!!
Henrique hasn’t shown much yet, but again- he’s been here 5 minutes!! We have no idea whether he’ll be brilliant or not…. Getting behind new players should be the most basic of requirements from fans! If they flop, then fair enough, but at least wait until they do!!
The starting 11 against Torino only had 2 outfield players over the age of 30…. and now we have genuine options on the bench! Cheer up man, FFS!!
Agree with you. Sick of the pathetic whinging that is ever-constant here. So called “fans” completely dump on new players after they’ve played less than 90mins for our club. Absolute jokes.
Yeah, unfortunately Inter have a very strange fanbase… where so many fans are actually delusional about how good their teams are, most of our fans won’t even allow themselves to enjoy the good times!
lol, you don’t suppose to replay that kind of comment bro. I think it’s the owner who typed that to get us engaged. even if im wrong you still not recommend to replay that.
