Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard has joined Marseille on loan with a purchase option.
The Nerazzurri confirm that the Frenchman has departed in an official announcement on their homepage.
Inter Milan have been willing to sell defender Benjamin Pavard this summer.
The Frenchman joined the Nerazzurri from Bayern Munich last summer. He instantly established himself as a key player in their back three.
However, concerns about Pavard’s fitness as well as the emergence of Yann Bisseck have meant that he has not always played a prominent role.
In each of his last two seasons at Inter, Pavard played just 23 matches each.

Several clubs have expressed an interest in signing Pavard this summer.
Turkish champions Galatasaray reportedly are keen on Pavard. Then, Neom have not hid their interest in bringing the 29-year-old to the Saudi Pro League.
Furthermore, the possibility of a move back to Ligue 1 has also emerged.
Lille withdrew their interest, as they consider a move for Pavard to be too expensive.
However, it is a different French club that will be bringing Pavard back to his homeland.
Marseille have moved to sign Pavard in the final days of the transfer window. And they have completed a deal on deadline day.
Inter confirm that Pavard has signed for Marseille on an initial loan deal. Additionally, this loan contains a purchase option.
Inter do not announce what the purchase option would be, but reports indicate that it is a paid loan containing a €15 million purchase option.
This transfer is a tactical suicide unless we’re going to switch to back 4, because now we definitely don’t have enough quality cb’s to execute back 5.
Dimarco-Bastoni-Akanji-Dumfries looks solid, but when it gets to our bench we are doomed.
With Chivu’s arrival I was hoping to see some fresh ideas and a change of tactics.
With the current squad we have no other option but to play attacking football with Thuram-Lautaro-Bony. And during the game any of the attacking trio could be replaced with Esposito, Henrique (or Fratessi as a Amf or Ss).
I mean we could stick to back 5 but Bisseck, Palacios, DeVrij, Darmian and Accerbi can’t even be seriously considered anymore even against the clubs from the bottom of the table. Only reliable player on the bench is Carlos.
I’ve read somewhere that Pavard is no longer committed and wants to go back to France, so much so that Chivu decided to bench him against Udineze (and paid the price for that). In any case, the only word I have to drscribe this transfer window is – disaster.
I think he was benched because the transfer was cooking in the background.
I wish Juve would have swoped in for him. Quality player. Chivu should have insisted on keeping this guy as he surely would have had qood use for him.

I was one of those that said Pavard should leave, because he is in downward path of career, he spends half a season injured, and that’s probably the biggest reason that he was sold. But to sell him at half a price for which you bought him, once again shows how much there is incompetence in selling our players. Fucking useless, every single one of them.
As far as Akanji is concerned, hopefully injuries won’t bother him that much, but will be upgrade in central position over both Acerbi and de Vrij. Who should be thanked for their service, and leave Acerbi as backup, and get rid of de Vrij, who for 3 years already isn’t that important in Inter plans, and has a little playing time for wage of around 4 mil i think.
We can pick one more cb from Eric Garcia, Diogo Leite or Danilho Doekhi. Any of them can be brought for around 10 mil, all on expiring contract. Garcia easily can replace Pavard on rcb, and both Leite and Doekhi can be ccb and then move Akanji on right side.
And hell, bring Brownhill in the middle for free instead of Zielinski or Hakan.
I know this isn’t Football Manager or similar games, but we got pretty disappointing first team starters, and out of newcomers the only current material for starting 11 is Sucic, the rest are backups.
Gks: Sommer is in decline, Martinez underperformed horribly when given chance, better was even Di Gennaro than him during pre-season.
Wingbacks are solid but we need new play, not just to go over them every single attack. Out of cbs the only starter material is Bastoni, and maybe Akanji, we’ll see. Trio of oldtimers can’t match the pace anymore, in standard 4 back formation they’ll all be 4th option, Augusto is more lb than cb, Bisseck should be sold next year, or in January.
Midfield Barella and Sucic are starting 11, Frattesi should leave if Chivu doesn’t give him more chance, Zielinski and Hakan are on life support, uselles both of them, they are now maybe even worse than Frattesi in defensive play, Mhiki is ok as only the backup on left side. Luis underperformed so far, he got chance to play, but it is still early, same with reserve strikers and Diouf. We’ll see how each of them develop. Thuram always with a move more than needed, fucking shoot when you get the ball, uninterested, Lautaro spends too much energy helping in both defense and middle because we don’t have real def. midfielder who will clear the ball in front of defense and from who can start attack. Both of them misses a lot.
No mater how many of you guys don’t agree with me or simply doesn’t like Vlahovic, it’s a fact that if we can get him for free next summer with reasonable salary it will be a massive reinforcement. He’s a player who will guarantee you 25+ g+a per season, even in low points of Juventus games he scored with much higher consistency than any of our strikers, who were in my opinion more wateful.

No matter what anyone thinks, the facts are he’s a good defender and he is in France NT. He also won the WC and played for Bayern.
Compared to the mistakes bisseck does, Pavard is world class. We got him for 32M and loaned him for 2M and go someone that’s actually older as his replacement!
Also Akanji is not bad but Pavard is better at RCB.
This transfer will cost us a lot of points, in fact this whole transfer season was bad, we got a lot of average players. You will see when the season ends how this will affect us

regardsless of his name in football he just wasn’t putting in the effort to help the team.
akanji will be an adequate replacement for him but importantly he is a much better defender.
Next season Inter will spend big on a central center back, whereas the rest of the squad will still be young in most positions and Barella will likely fall back in to Hakan’s role to replace him leaving.
Ph yes, we’ll spend night next year. Of course. Oh, didn’t we hear that this June? That finally we have money to spend big? We had a chance to spend big, we didn’t. We won’t next year, cos we won’t even make it to the CL. We won’t have money to spend. Only players who are happy to paly in the Europa League will come. We’ll be looking at veterans for free again.

I think this is a bad move. I understand he isnt always fit but 23 games of Pavard is better than a season of Bisseck. Im not super familiar with Akanji’s game but ive heard he isnt a RCB he is a CB which means Bisseck will be the new starter but i would rather have Darmian playing than Bisseck. Bisseck did score a few goals but he also lost Inter more games than he’s helped. Darmian filled in better when Pavard was injured. I believe this is a HUGE mistake and is going to cost Inter CL for next year. I think our defense is going to be the reason we struggle this year. No disrespect to Bastoni he is solid but Acerbi and De Vrj are better suited as a B/U’s. I do think De Vrj should be starting over Acerbi, hes a little faster than Acerbi.
Darmian and Agusto are also good in an emergency to fill in. I just dont understand. Well thats my opinion. If im wrong and the defense is a key piece of Inter’s success this year i will eat my words and apologize to Bisseck, Acerbi, De Vrj.
