Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu is considering resting Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries against Cagliari, as captain Lautaro Martinez is set to return to the lineup.
According to reports from Sky Sport, Chivu will rest Dumfries, who has started every game so far.
Instead, the Romanian coach will rely on former Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian on the right-hand side.
However, Chivu can also rely on Brazilian Luis Henrique to come off the bench.
The former Marseille man looked good in his cameo appearance against Sassuolo last weekend and Chivu will likely start to give him more minutes.

Sky also claim that there will be two more big chances from last weekend’s win over the Neroverdi.
Captain Lautaro Martinez will return to the starting eleven, after being rested against Ajax and coming off the bench against Sassuolo.
The Argentine returned from international duty with some fatigue and back pain.
Due to this, Lautaro has played a bit-part role in Inter’s last three matches.
However, he is now back to full fitness and will return to Chivu’s XI.
Meanwhile, Sky also claim that Chivu will give the nod to Yann Sommer ahead of Josep Martinez in goal.

is it not the truth? i want chivu to succeed but u cant rely on old players on the last year of their contract. mkhi and darmian need to be third choice, its the only viable option. Young players need game time especially against teams like cagliari who aren’t bad but also not very good.

I want chivu to succeed and i like a lot of our play style and the chances we create… but we need to give time to our young players like other top teams. i dont want another inzhagi era where we do so good in the beginning and then towards the end of the season we die out.
if they play darmian in place of henrique then i lost all hope for chivu… just the same as inzhagi with his old players
