After a superb performance in today’s 4-1 win against Lazio, Inter’s Mateo Kovacic took the time to talk to Sky after the game. Here’s what he had to say: “I’m pleased with today, we played well. My first goal? I’m sure it will come. I’ve worked hard to improve my game and earn my chance. I’m happy and now I want to continue this way.
Is Mazzari the right coach for me? I don’t want to talk about that. Now we’re expecting to do a lot more next season. Inter is one of the three most important clubs in Italy and we want to do some good things.”

Imagine Kova playing from the start over the while season. And don’t dare giving me that “oh but Mazzarri developed Kovacic to this point” speech!
If Mazzarri has the right players for his ideal system I daresay hell do well. Next season we have Icardi to lead the line, Kovacic and Hernanes as midfield generals, Vidic to marshal the back line and Handanovic/Bardi between the sticks. There’s 5 world class players. 11 for a team. Palacio, Juan, Taider and Botta are perhaps a level lower but still probably worthy of inter. A couple more world class players will allow great things. Buy Mazzarri style. If he’s fired a great coach can adapt to the team as people keep saying. Simeone or whoever would work equally well with a Mazzarri styled team I think

Not saying I totally agree with you though. He’s not been able to nail down a starting spot on his national team 11. After all only 1 of Aguero and Higuain should play as neither can really play on the wing.
But Argentine National team strike force are the best in the whole world. Theres Messi, Aguero, Higuain, Lavezzi. Even our deffinetly world class striker back then (Milito) have a hard time to secure the starting 11.

mazzarri is still big question considering he never changed his 3-5-2 formation, however if kovacic continues developing like this and inter grows as a team and on the table, we can’t say anything bad.
