Italian media have once again placed the spotlight on Yann Bisseck following Inter’s Supercoppa Italiana exit against Bologna, with La Gazzetta dello Sport describing the defender’s latest handball as a recurring and damaging pattern.
“One hand pulls the other, and Inter always end up back at square one,” the newspaper writes, with quotes via FCInterNews.
“The central issue is that the hand is always the same, guilty and ill-timed, especially inside the penalty area.”
According to Gazzetta, Bisseck’s repeated handball fouls have weighed heavily on Inter’s 2025, which has ended “without even a scrap of silverware.”
The paper labels the issue “a gigantic factor,” noting that this was already the third time such an error has proved decisive.
Bisseck Mistakes Mount As Inter Defender Costly In Bologna Defeat

The previous two incidents both came last season. One in stoppage time away to Genoa at the Ferraris.
And another even more costly mistake at San Siro against Lazio on the penultimate matchday.
Despite the criticism, Gazzetta is clear that these errors are not expected to affect Bisseck’s long-term future at the club.
“For Bisseck, at the moment, there seems to be only Inter,” the report states.
“Even if that means doubling up.”
The German has been used across multiple roles this season, including as the central centre-back in defence.
Indeed, before returning to his more natural right-sided centre-back position.
The challenge now is psychological.
After another high-profile mistake, Bisseck is once again being asked to respond.
To regain confidence and show that these lapses do not define his development.
A lot of nonsense talk. Bissek has all the traits needed exept experience, which comes att a slower rate playing for a big club. If he had been defending in Lecce or Parma he would have played continually and by now fully matured. Leoni very talented and promising but too young and overvalued. The other two chaps? ok maybe something but to early to say. There´s a big difference defending in Inter and one of the minor clubs where everyone in the team fights like hell to defend and hopefully avoid degradation.
He should have been sold in the summer to get Leoni. Ordonez and Muharemovic are good buys now IMO.
i said it last year… will say again, cost them the scudetto – now the super coppa . at times good he lacks the fiery close he is too soft .he got pushed around by a much smaller player ! inter needs to revamp the defense and do i quickly – acerbi is old and devrij is very slow !
defense area making too many mistakes this season continuing by the shaky performances last season. no high profile that can be depended as tough as fit acerbi or de vrij except akanji. if all three of them are injured or suspended, we will be doomed.
Too many mistakes.. get rid of him.
