Inter Milan are increasingly reflecting the ideas of head coach Cristian Chivu, whose footballing philosophy and squad management are drawing praise in the Italian press.

According to Tuttosport, Chivu’s tactical identity has deep roots.

The Romanian developed within the Ajax school of thought before learning under high-profile coaches such as Fabio Capello and Luciano Spalletti during his time at Roma, and later Jose Mourinho.

All shared an emphasis on vertical, direct football, an approach now clearly visible in Inter’s play.

Another defining feature of the Chivu era has been his management of the squad, particularly his willingness to trust young players.

Striker Francesco Pio Esposito has become a symbol of this policy, showing that academy talents can contribute without looking out of place at senior level.

The same applies to prospects such as Issiaka Kamate and Mattia Cocchi, who have been given opportunities that would have been far harder to come by in previous seasons.

Under Chivu, youth is no longer just a long-term investment but an active part of the present.

Importantly, this increased rotation and reliance on younger legs has not led to any noticeable drop in the team’s physical levels.

That aspect could prove crucial in Europe, where Inter often face opponents capable of operating at a far higher tempo.

Against sides like Arsenal, who can play at relentless speed, bridging the economic gap may be impossible.

However, narrowing the intensity gap is a more realistic target. Under Chivu, Inter appear to be moving firmly in that direction.
