Gazzetta dello Sport this morning gives us the latest news regarding Andrea Ranocchia’s contract renewal. After returning from his vacation he will be at Pinzolo from the 10th July. At that point he will renew his deal until 2018 (runs out in 2015) and take his place as the captain of the Nerazzurri.

The armband is set to be given to him because he is the only Italian in the first team.Must our captain be Italian?Zanetti was not Italian and he was loved by all alike.How can someone who is not a starter be a captain of a very big team.The Captain must always be in the team,not out of the team.There is Handanovic,Nagatomo&Palacio who I think are better candidates.Thohir we don’t need a benchwarmer captain.Though he is our only Italian player but he was considered to be the 24th best Italian player based on formation.Please don’t make this happen.And never sell Taider,get Rolando,M’Vila,Layun,Emenike,Hernandez Javier.With this we have two old strikers as well as two young ones,then promote our youngsters to cover every other area we need.

There must be reasons of rano selection. We dont know exacly how they are off the field. We only know about them on the field. We dont know them personally. So, if ranocchia being chosen as next captain means that he has or close to the characteritsic being sought
RANO Is Sub, he dont deserved to wear the armband
At this point, with all the senatori gone, I think this is the best decision. He seems to be getting out of the lack of confidence hole he’s been. I hope the captaincy makes him stronger mentally. I don’t think there currently any other players that deserve it more than him. Nagatomo? I don’t think so.

My problem with this is: Is he an automatic starter….I don’t think he is…
At the moment (if playing 4 at the back) Vidic and Jesus is our best defenders, and I think our captain needs to be someone who starts every game.
A captain should be an extension of the manager ON THE PITCH… not much point in that if you site next to him on the bench !!
well i think JJ can play leftback too. he would perfectly fit as leftback in a 4 at the back formation

First, if Juan play as lefty, what will happen to Yuto?
Second, if Juan play as lefty, and Inter bought Rolando, it’s safe to say that Vidic – Rolando is the strongest duet.
Third, combining the two possibilities above meaning that Ranocchia is only our third choice.
if we play 4 in defence i cant see rano as a starter, if we play 3 in defence and bring rolando or astori i cant see him as a starter too!!!

He’s the best of the best, Zanetti is. But, does it means that he’s always right? Nope i don’t think so.
i’m gonna reserve judgement. i support inter no matter what but sometimes i wonder what the decision makers think…
