Walter Mazzarri spoke after the defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
“A lot of fitness work in the week? I don’t want to look for excuses, but my fitness coach Pondrelli told me that we needed to do some hard graft otherwise we’d struggle for sharpness down the road. I think the lads suffered out there because of that. Their legs looked a bit heavy and I made changes to avoid injuries. We weren’t sharp and lacked clear heads. I think this is just the result of the workload we put in during the week.”
The Nerazzurri coach then spoke about this moment of pre-season.
“At this stage of the season you can perform very well in some matches and less so in others. A lack of fitness or focus can see you run into difficulties. We hadn’t faced any danger until we scored and you need to be wary in certain situations in any case. We probably just dropped off a touch subconsciously having taken the lead. We limited the damage in the second half: Kovacic and Hernanes just needed some minutes under their belts.
“We’ll need bite in our friendly in Greece, then we’ll have a full week to prepare as best we can for the Europa League.”

I think that Mazzarri has reached the last chapter on his book of excuses. He may be forced to “recycle” some excuses from last year like “it’s hard to play in the cold” or “the ground was frozen” “it was Kovacic’s fault” or “Guarin gave the ball away” or “inter is not used to playing twice in 1 week” get used to another season of that crap! lol

Saw the game in the stadium. Icardi was all alone upfront. Joel Obi didn’t happen at all, jonathan played very bad. Vidic was the only one playing an almost good game.
I am from Thessaloniki, my favorite team is my local team PAOK and so I will be cheering for both of my favorites teams on Thursday !!!! I will go to Jonathan guys to tell him that playing for Inter is a dream and he must start performing great! Any requests for other players guys? 😛

3 man defense don’t work so change to 4-3-3 and buy some good offensive winge like cerci or jovetic or play 4-2-3-1and play the material we have

Watch the games in America we never did anything extra ordinary, our play were never exemptional, no identity scared waiting for the opponent to make mistakes as mazzari says limiting the damage.

Let’s not look too much into this boys. Defense didn’t look great but this was not the full team we will be fielding. Some of these players will be out on loan and hopefully with our real players we will be able to control the midfield more and create some chances for Icardi. He got zero service this pre season
We can hope Kovacic gets his genius together this year and defies Mazzarri’s orders to pass the ball to the flanks 😀 Both him and Hernanes can give perfect through balls, and both Palacio and Icardi are quick on their feet, just use that…
The germans played really well with fast one-twos. And Mazzarri answered with tired misguided long balls aiming for Icardi. I duuno if the players were tired, but this system won’t work. What happened with the 4-4-2…
I hope that we don’t have to see this picture of WM offren this season……so far he hasn’t done what he promised to do and that is change the system….wonder how many games in to the season we go before he realise that his way of playing isn’t working anymore and he like everybody else needs to evolve to go further….he did the same thing with Napoli and got the same results every year….sure he got them to CL but never a scudetto team….change to surprise that is the key!

He said the exact same thing before last year’s season started after we lost some stupid game, and we didnt really show that fitness “down the road” 🙁
But we did have a very good start to the season up until the Roma game (about week 10?).
I do not see our fitness is the problem even i realize we need to improve it.
The most problem is our style of playing. It seems players did not catch what WM explain. As a coach you must open your mind and change to improve this inter.
