Gazzetta dello Sport looks at the situation which will arise in Inter’s midfield once Gary Medel is fit to take his place in the team. For the Europa League qualifiers and the first Serie A fixture at Torino it’s almost certain the Chilean won’t be ready but after that Mazzarri will face a dilemma. According to the Milanese daily newspaper it’s Yann M’Vila who will be at risk as the preference of the coach is Kovacic and Hernanes thus leaving only one available spot for M’Vila or Medel.

we play in league, cup and europe. more then enough time for both to establish themselves…
All we really need for tjis formation to work out are great wing backs like Cuadrado & Coentrao, And we are in scudetto race. Hopefully we can do it next year.
They are different types of player. M’Vila is better at building up play. He is more like Inler and Medel is more like Behrami, a pure ball winner who can run non stop. They are both needed. Maybe Hernanes should fear for his place. He hasnt lived up to his 20 million pricetag. Hernanes at Lazio was completly different player. We should have saved that money for Cerci.
Hernanes in Lazio played as a CAM, he is occupied with a crapload of defensive duties in Mazzarri’s system.
some people don’t understand that but i know exactly what you’re saying
All you 3-5-2 hates. Do you not realize that Conte copied it from WM and ended up winning three Scudetti in a row? It might not work at Inter, but that doesn’t mean its a shitty formation!
I dont hate 3-5-2 formation,i just hate our coach
For the exact reason Conte sucked in Europe miserably. 3-5-2 especially with the way Dumbzzari playing it is ancient belongs to 90s.
yea 3-5-2 is so ancient that Van Gal finished in 3rd place at the world cup with it… yup (be sure to read in the most sarcastic voice you have)
3-5-2 is not a bad formation, it’s that you need the right players for it. for starters, your wing backs have to be top of the class players. Naga and Jonathan are just above average at best.
I think we could keep Mazzari’s basic system if instead of having three DC we had 2 defensive midfiled, which is currently not the case, as the article indicates well. Thus we could have:
Handanovic
Vidic (or Jesus)-Ranocchia
Jonathan- M’Vila-Medel – Nagatomo
Hernanes
Kovacic
Palacio-Icardi
This would enable us
1) to still have a great defense covering
2) to still have the flanks covered juste in Mazzari’s prefered system
2) to make Kovacic only focus on his n°10 natural position,
3) Have Hernanes as a free player in midfiled, going where he wants, just like he used to do at Lazio and where he was much better than what we’ve seen.
4) To keep 2 forwards because this 4-5-1-1 never makes us score goals. We saw it against Pana, and we saw at the beginning of last season when Palacio was alone upfront.
I meant 3-5-1-1 at the end
Why take M’vila out? Ranocchia should be the one who fears for his position, Medel played great as CRB in the WC,
so Juan-Vidic-Medel would be a great defence
Kovacic-M’vila-Hernanes, fantastic midfield
Palacio-Icardi(Osvlado)
– we really need a secound striker like Cerci or Firmino.. or both..
And alternetives for Kovacic and Hernanes. If we sell Guarin..
I really cant see us fight for the scudetto, just look at Juve-Napoli-Roma.. they have like 2 teams in one, we dont even have 1.
And 3-5-2 has to be changed to 4-3-3, at least at home
I dont think that 352 formation is bad but if we doesnt have another alternatives its become worst
well, two good players for one spot is ideal.
so I don’t see any problem with M’Vila and Medel.
Mazzarri OUT!
We should be playing 433. Handa; Medel, Vidic , Juan, Dodo;M’Vila, Kovacic, Hernanes; Palacio, Icardi , New Transfer (Depay, Lavezzi or Cerci)
I hate that “3-5-2” formation… it’s like a low quality
