Not even two months passed from when Saphir Taider joined Southampton before the Algerian left the club joining Sassuolo. The Southampton coach Ronald Koeman talked about Taider’s move from the club:
“He lived a difficult situation here, I can’t guarantee everyone of the players that they will play. There are many competitions to play and many good players in the team, it must be the player who shows that he deserves space. If you don’t accept that, then it will all become more difficult.”

Like many players of the Branca era, we purchased Taider for significantly more than his true worth, so it was inevitable that we’d eventually make a loss on him. Personally I’m just glad he’s off the books and that his omission cleared the way for M’Villa, a far superior player that we payed under for (for a first)
Koeman is right and Taider demonstrated why he was sent away. We don’t need any divas and drama queens!!! Taider and Guarin – two Inter has no space for (neither anyone else…)
