Today Inter’s official website released a statement in response to some disparaging comments made by the Juventus president, Andrea Agnelli towards Inter and Moratti. The Juve president, in bidding farewell to Moratti, could not do so without lining his message with the typical rhetoric coming from the Juve camp. He said: “He was crazy about the club, so much that he accepted the 2006 scudetto.”
Here is the response as it appeared on the FC Internazionale website:
“FC Internazionale is saddened to hear that Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has once again attempted to distort the facts and change history. Unfortunately for him, and for Italian football as a whole, 2006 was a disastrous year in which the Scudetto was legitimately awarded to Inter by the FIGC and Juventus were relegated to Serie B along with their reputation. Those are the facts. We will not allow anyone to change them or act as if they did not happen.”
