The progression Walter Mazzarri was able to achieve at Napoli is simply not occurring at Inter, Gazzetta dello Sport looks at the reasons why. Firstly in the wing positions Maggio and Zuniga were able to offer solution in both attack and defence. This is something Jonathan and Yuto Nagatomo have been unable to achieve during Mazzarri’s tenure at Inter. The midfield and attack do not function in a similar fashion to that which Mazzarri constructed in Naples. There is no Cavani to come back into midfield and create space and incisive runs. The closest player to him is Osvaldo and he has found no continuity due to injuries. Hamsik turned a 3-5-2 into a 3-4-3 with his intelligent movement but in midfield Mazzarri only has players who dribble. This is ironic because as the paper states what Inter need in attack is Lavezzi: A player who is fast and can dribble. Currently Inter have a true centre forward in Mauro Icardi and Rodrigo Palacio who is breaking down physically. Mazzarri works with honesty but with Thohir showing no signs of spending big it’s difficult for the coach.

i can say this , inter have one of the best midfields in serie a , and some promising forwards, plus the squad he has is not adapted to play 3-5-2.

just like Mazzarri said “teams give 120 % when they play us” so that means when a last place team like parma on a 7 game losing streak and with Serie A’s worse defense play a team like Inter and give 120 % they will definetely win !!!
Who wants to play like Napoli? what did they win in Serie A Under Mazzarri? coppa Italia? yes, they did deserve it but Napoli had some reallly poor performances under him. does anyone remember Chelsea utterly burying them in Champions league ? how many times did Cavani save the team ? they had an amazing coach in Strama now they will regret letting him go and you Inter fans that wanted him to go should remember one thing: be careful what you wish for, you just may get it !!!

1. Work ethic as a coach in fooball is: First thing first, “Always make the best of your disposal”, his disposal…??? No, he ask a lot and he got what he wanted… now look at sampdoria or udinese… Did they have better squad…??? No, but they’re A TEAM, we’re 11 men.
2. If you can’t get what you wanted, the one who need to changed is yourself… Thats why good coach always have back up plan and learn something different so you’ve no complain about anything related to players availability because the answer of every problem is already in your head. No way you only have 3-5-2 for every situation, it’s suicide and it’s very stupid.
3. We appreciate hard work than “talking about hard work”. You’ve to be sure about something you believe and be responsible for the outcome.

This bullshit, he has been at the helm for 1,5 year and now he reflects that he cant replicate napolis lineup?! Before he renewed he should have made this clear to Thohir not now……if he was a good coach he would at least get 80-90 procent out of the players he has but we are at 50 procent or in some case less….and ge cant turn it around…..he needs to realize he is mediocre and hand his resignation period!!!
