Former Nerazzurri striker hernan Crespo has spoken to Corriere dello Sport about new Inter coach Roberto Mancini. A coach that he of course played under in Milan.
Can you recall the best memory with Mancini?
“The first championship won on the field. Celebrating with the Moratti family. It was a target that Inter and myself had chased for a long time”
The qualities of Mancini?
“He knows how to make the players feel good, he makes them all feel important.”
Any issues with Mancini?
“The normal grumbling when I wasn’t playing, I went to ask for an explanation in his room.”

If he’s complaining of being benched back then, what about Alvaro Recoba? He could write a whole book named “Inter’s glorious bench experience” 😀
Well… Recobas book should be subtitled. “Due to my lack of commitment and laziness during practice” This is a fact mentioned multiple times by Moratti, who absolutely loved Recoba. Also, Recoba was made of Crystal, he could not play too many games full 90 minutes without having some kind of physical issues.
I’m not arguing. But he was a tremendous talent. Moratti must have loved him if he kept him for almost 10 years. And in the end both him and Crespo were outshined by Vieri.
He was great. I love his talent, specially his left foot. I still remember his first goal with an Inter shirt on his debut game. It was a very impressive shot, a real missile. Ironically, he is still doing some amazing things in Uruguay at 38. My opinion is that he got spoiled at inter and he should have left earlier to re-launch his career somewhere else.
Grande Hernan.
Grande Hernan.
One thing with Mancini, if he benches somebody, that guy doesn’t play for a loooooong time. Happened with few good players at City.
Hopefully he wont repeat the same mistake again 🙂
Quite frankly, how many good players do you know at Inter that can push out other good players to the bench?
Guarin, nagatomo, kuzmanovic. And if we buy more top players in january ofcourse.
Did you just call Kuzmanovic a top player?
Recently hes one of our best midfielders along with Hernanes since Kovacic has been in poor form. But i wouldnt call Kuzmanovic a top player.
Historically Kuz would not be considered worthy of shinning the boots of top players. But in recent weeks he has been without a doubt one of the most dynamic players on the pitch, giving the most heart, leading by example, etc. I’ve gained a lot of respect for the guy. I want good things for him. Hopefully more players will follow his lead
See now, that’s where things go SERIOUSLY wrong. The bad results in themselves are nothing, but when you start thinking Kuzmanovic is anything above average, that’s red alert.
Not many if you ask me. But sometimes things were personal, just like what happened to Balotelli in City. For few personal disputes, he was benched for a lot of time.
I’m thinking it happened to Crespo too. Might be personal, who knows.
