In the last hours the positive speculation linking Inter to Xherdan Shaqiri has increased. According to reporter Alfredo Pedulla this has a lot to do with the intervention of Roberto Mancini in the discussions. The Inter coach is said to have had a key role in convincing Shaqiri of Inter’s project, as well as getting the “okay” for the deal from Thohir.
Mancini is said to have charmed Shaqiri by complimenting his technical ability and expressing that he would have a serious role at Inter. This has reportedly helped to ensure that Liverpool did not tempt the player away from Inter, who are currently the forerunner in the race for his signature.
