Just like many of his teammates F.C. Internazionale captain Andrea Ranocchia also leaves his opinion on the win against Celtic FC which allows his team to qualify for the round of 16 in the Europa League.
These were the words of the Italian defender: “It was vital that we didn’t concede and we managed to keep a clean sheet. Medel? He is extremely important for us because he covers so much space. Now we think about the game against Fiorentina, which will be a tough fixture. Both teams played tonight, that’s a good thing for us”.
“Let’s return to tonight’s game, our objective was to qualify, we created many chances even though we should have finished off the game earlier on. Celtic’s defensive line? They are competent and physically strong players. When they went one man down they tried to close down space, but nevertheless we managed to create all those chances. They are intensive and an excellent team. The Champions League will be hard to reach, either through the league or through winning the Europa League. However we are still fighting in both competitions and this makes us happy”.

From the display last night, Inter mostly suffered from the fragility at the CB. Unnecessary back passes posed unwanted danger to Carrizo. Rano-JJ partnership prove to be flaw. If Inter were to play in CL soon, this kind of match display cannot be continued.. team goes to the CL to win not to sit back happy for a draw in their mind. Thank God Guarin scored to eased the nerviness in the team.
Then you’re not..
I’m really hoping rano and JJ improve because to be honest the best performance in defence we’ve had this season was the vidic and andreoli pairing
CL spot is pretty much impossible this season unless they really really screw up. EL is more realistic but even that will be tough to achieve.
Depending on who we get in the round of 16 but honestly it’s not too promising considering the struggle against a celtic no where near its best but the important thing is we got through and i hope we continue to improve. You to froggy haha #forzainter
Oh, I meant EL spot. But yeah I agree, EL itself will be very hard, especially if we play like we did against Celtic. We can hope that this was the extreme schedule causing fatigue and that we will return in better form.
But I think we are on the right track.
Can’t argue that yeah, we are looking pretty good lately. We are ahead to last 16 in EL, just had a three win streak in Serie A. Really great stuff. And I think that few not so shining moments in this reborn era belongs to crazy schedule of 4 matches in 2 weeks
