The journalist Stefano De Grandis spoke in the Sky Sport studio about Roberto Mancini’s choice of letting Juan Pablo Carrizo stand between the posts in Europa League.
“It’s a strange tactic from a lot of coaches, to rely on a reserv in certain competitions. I don’t agree with this if both goalkeepers doesn’t have the same level. The best one has to play, they don’t have the same need to ‘catch their breath’ between matches”.

De Grandis also forgot to mentioned that RM also needed rest too!
My point exactly…keepers don’t run up and down the field for 90 minutes and sure sometimes they have the busy games where alot of saves are made but in truth and in fact they should be in the best shape …am not saying not to rotate now and again but really you don’t put your 2nd choice keeper in a game against the biggest contender for the cup that’s absurd.A chain is as strong as it’s weakest link.Food for thought #forzainter
It would seem that every coach gets this except Mazzari. I mean last 16 teams, playing against one of the favorites, you rotate the GK from a world class one, when the rotation isn’t needed.
EXACTLY! but what’s done is done and if carrizo plays next match against wolfsburg, I wont even bother entertaining the idea of a win
I hope Mancini reads this article!!!
