Inter are looking for players to strengthen the fullback positions. Yesterday, scouts from the Nerazzurri attended the Copa Libertatores match between River Plate and Cruzeiro in Argentina. The Brazilian side won the match 1-0, and right-back Mayke put in a stellar performance. The young Brazilian has been linked with the Nerazzurri in the past, and has been declared as the “new Maicon.” Alfredo Pedulla reports that Cruzeiro are asking for 7-8 million euros for Mayke. It will be difficult for the Nerazzurri to bring in the Brazilian because the player is not a citizen of the European Union. Inter are planning to use their extra slot on Mammana of River Plate.

From watching youtube videos of the guy ( its my only way of assessing the player atm). It seems like his compared to maicon, because he can cross well and is brazilian, which is admirable in a fullback. If this player can only contribute in attack and can not defend, then inter should not even consider him at all. He could be another jonathan or nagatomo since youtube just takes glimpses of what a player can do, and not how he can maintain his ability throughout 90mins. I understand inters approach to south america for cheaper undiscovered talents, but the risk could outweigh the outcome. That is why i always prefer inter purchasing players within Europe in the top 4 leagues (spain, germany, england and italy) or at the very least the top ten leagues.
