All of the recent headlines involving Inter are revolving around Geoffrey Kondogbia. The Nerazzurri’s most recent signing has arguably been on of the biggest moves of the meracto so far. The Italian papers have given us a sneak peak of what is to come tomorrow:
La Gazzetta dello Sport: ‘Kondoshow’: There has been a lot of hype surrounding the Frenchman. Inter fans gathered to celebrate. Thohir says “We are entering a new chapter.” Melo is preferred to Motta, with Salah, Perisic, and Montoya all being targets.
Il Corriere dello Sport: What a surprise: Serie A teams have spent the most so far during this “super mercato.” In total 170 million euros have been spent. Mandzukic and Kondogbia have just arrived. Milan have decided that they will give Mihajlovic Imbula.
Tuttosport: Inter: there has been a lot of hype for Kondogbia. He says “We will get to the top together.”

Without doubt, Kondogbia adds great value to manager Roberto Mancini’s squad, and it would not be surprising if he were to become the team’s crucial cog. The transfer sum reflects his value but it is still a high price for Inter. If their rebuild is to continue then funds will need to be raised by player sales, and there are a few names in that hat.
One name that shouldn’t be in it is Kovacic’s. It remains to be seen if this project that Inter are embarking on is a clever strategy or bringing in talent only to let some go. If the 2015-16 season starts with Kovacic and Kondogbia on the field, then the policy will look to be nothing short of genius.
