Ivan Perisic is on the move? You couldn’t say that after having seen Wolfsburg’s friendly match. The Croatian winger started the game and even if he got substituted in second half he managed to score two goals (the first one on a penalty) in their 4-2 victory over FC Zurich.

to be objective
lets see on whole season stats on perisic
– This guy only score and assist once respectively in every 5 games
– this guy injured a lot last season (2 long period injury), this why we sell alvarez
– Wolfsburg score higher when he is injured (2.6 goal per game vs only 2 when he played)
– 18 million for 13 million rated player. Not a good deal , risky for inter who under uefa punishment
You might have a point. But, the 1 goal-1 assist from last year does not tell the whole story because like you said he was injured 2 long periods. The guy is very talented. Very good striker with high futbol IQ. I think he is one of the best out there in the 13-18M price range. There is a reason why Wolfsburg do not want to sell him. I do think Inter needs to focus on sign him ASAP. …Great stats by the way, thank you for sharing them… I love when people give educated opinions like you did, so I am really curious to hear who you would try to sign instead of Perisic. About Ricky… He was given too many chances at inter and kept disappointing. Too bad for him.
Guys! Imagine the 4 M’s in defence: Montoya-Miranda-Murillo-Masuaku
buy drogba, perisic and masuaku, and we done here
definitely should go for drogba
I hope inter can consider insigne if we can’t get perisic or salah…
I don’t see with the display of our defense, it’s right to play openly with 2 wingers.. Will leave big hole on the flank since we also not yet have decent WB.
since your a non licensed coach…. i’ll talk your language:P
the midfield block needs work, it’s obvious kondogbia doesn’t know how to play in a 433. that put a lot of pressure on dimarco as everyone saw yesterday. kondogbia was too central while brozovic was too high up the pitch. as the preseason progresses players are going to understand mancini’s vision and system. mancini is probably going to play a 451 in defense. because perisic usually plays in a similar system at wolfsburg. the winger will comeback to support the fullback. and that allows the central midfielders to come inside to create a more compact defensive shape(that’s why atletico madrid are one of the best in the world).
we got shut down very fast and got no time with the ball. The team definitely needs to learn to increase work rate without the ball. definitely need wingers to help out more without the ball. Palacio JJ and guarin are definitely not part of this team going forward the faster we get rid of them the better to work on the new team. IMO 4-2-3-1 is definintley a great system for us.
guarin would fit in to this team, atleast he makes chances and quality when he’s on form, however with brozovic, im not convinced, not inter quality at all
i agree brozovic not good enough would like to see medel with kondogbia dm’s with perisic kovacic and salah in front and icardi striker
if kondogbia gets better i would think of 4231. but at the moment a 433 is most suited for us. kondogbia needs to get better in possession, he losses the ball a lot under pressure. brozovic is a workhorse. at times in a bad way. i still think we need a holding midfielder. i don’t understand why we don’t go for someone like thiago motta. kondogbia, kovacic, brozovic all aren’t that good in possession. we need an experianced leader in that midfield.

prefer medel and kondogbia DM’s with perisic kova and salah in front
kovacic is not an attacking midfielder. people always get that misconception.
Yeah.. It’s always like that if we facing a dominant team.. We have no option except playing counter attack, but “compactness while defend is a must”. Mancini has a lot job to fix this problem..
Yeah2, i think there’s possibility of doing like you mention. But i still not sure whether Mancini will stick with pure 4-5-1, since 4-3-3, 4-1-2-3, 4-2-1-3, and 4-5-1 basically have same concept, the concept is playing with 4 defender that determine what kind of attacking scheme he’ll use, the key is availability of the specific type of the midfielders and the wingers.
Back to the topic.. Since mancini wanted wingers so bad, i can assume he like to play direct and fast from side. Hopefully he can make the midfielder doing well to cover liability of his defensive concept. Or there also possibilities he’ll not use his WB to do a lot attacking job, so the 4 defender can concentrate on defending and the wingers will carry out all responsibilities regarding the attack.
I hope the team can find their the best shape before the start of this season.. We dont have time for try and error on real game..
“i still think we need a holding midfielder. i don’t understand why we don’t go for someone like thiago motta. kondogbia, kovacic, brozovic all aren’t that good in possession. we need an experienced leader in that midfield.” i’m hoping for a line up like this

what do you mean by “liability of his defensive concept” ?
The compactness while defending..
the only noticeable problem was largely due to kondogbias lack of experience as a LCM in a 433. that’s why dimarco kept losing one-on-ones. most of the attacks were left flank. costa had the freedom to roam around alone. the right flank with montoya and brozovic was really good.
edit: as a whole the defense looked solid. the midfield(left side) was very leaky tho. it created an over load on dimarco and murillo.
Honestly it was simple.
We miss zonal playing off the ball, we need a CMF/DMF with specific task to slow down the tempo (kondogbia can carry out this job, he is very calm), we need a ball winner who also a good passer (medel can make it) and the last we need the catalyst (kova will play this role since he can make a blitz attack, he is the bridge everytime we start an attack). Someone who carry out a task as “ball winner” will take big part in this scheme because every single attacking built up will always started by his 1st pass.
Basically Mancini got everything he need to make a great team, it’s just his personal taste that make he wanted this and that..
so you want a midfield of
kovacic-medel-kondogbia ?
I don’t mind the names as long as they can carry out the role, it’s fine for me.
If i categorized the player by their capability and by our current squad, it’ll look like this:
Ball winner/fighter/box2box: Medel, Guarin, Kondogbia, Gnoukouri, Taider
Metronome: Kondogbia, Kova, Brozovic, Hernanes
Catalyst: Kova, Guarin, Hernanes
Not much useful: Schelotto, khrin.
As you can see, some player can play more than 1 role, it means Mancini have quite wide flexibility.
there is a reason your a “Non-licensed coach” your probably a fifa 15 coach.
Funny… i never play FIFA, or FM…
dimarco was definitley no mach for costa it was quiet humorous poor guy
it wasn’t that. it was more of kondogbias bad positioning. the left side was very weak and it left murillo and dimarco with tons of work.
I like your formation, but instead of Motta we already have Medel…
is medel better than motta? does he have the mentality that motta has? 😛 i put motta because i think he can be our captain and also that he is still playing against top teams like barcelona, chelsea, bayern.
Medel is playing against juve ,roma, argentina, brazil…i think they are top teams to
not the same level.
Level 5
I said that coz getting Motta is unrealistic and would be very expensive in terms of his salary + we already have Medel who has qualities. but if we compare those 2, Motta is much better, but Medel is younger
After watching the Bayern Munich game you definitely cannot line up a 3 man midfield against the 5 man midfield Bayern had, not with the icardi that walks and whinges the way he did. we definitely need to inject 2 very fast wingers that will drop back when we don’t have the ball otherwise we will be dominated time and time again, mancini cannot expect our midfield to be able to hold up for 90 minutes. We also need a left back and Montoya is shit he looked very average. Send him back to barcelona so he can sit on the bench that is what he is good for.
Montoya deserves a chance. we can’t learn much from preseason
Yeah, even Kondogbia is still not good enough. It just preseason, you can’t give shit to your fans club player.
we will see, I hope so but if he was that good barca would have not renewed alves’s contract this season.
he isnt where our problem lies, what about fluffing d’ambrosio?!?
d ‘ambrosio will be a bench warmer all season. Just saying that last night Montoya was not impressive i know its early days but i can’t see him improving that much. but hey i hope I’m wrong
Its preseason retard..lol .. yea lets send every one home after one game against bayern.. which is a top 3 team in the world.. tighten up kid.
mmmm say what you want we looked very slow going forward and yes montoya is not all that great, youtube makes your grandmother look like messi.
dude,we changed half of our team..and bayern didnt change a thing..calm down 😉
yes i know it will take time. the pace tho……
At least someone to challenge palacio for starting 11..and if Jojo come, he will also challenge both palacio and icardi. After today’s match, we really need alternative up front..currently we have too much defenders, and sadly only few of them are good enough.
He is a great player and would fit perfectly in our team as we deaperately need a kind of wide striker like he is and the one who can score from there letting Icardi have the center striker position
